Granby Fall Colors
Despite the fact that the state of Colorado’s welcome sign is very bland, it is not wrong in boasting that Colorado is colorful. Especially during the fall.
Every year in mid to late September the state turns golden yellow as the Aspens trees start to change their colors. With the highest concentration of Aspen trees in the US, it is easy to see why they call Colorado colorful.
With the modern day gold rush just starting to peak, we decided that the only thing to do was hook up our OGT trailer and jump in the Gladiator for a little fall camping trip.
Having an off road trailer has really made camping much easier to do. We can setup a base camp with a lot of the comforts of home, like a comfy bed, hot water on demand and protection from the elements. Not only do those things make camp life much nicer, we actually get out more because of them. It also makes exploring your surroundings much easier when you don’t have to pack up camp every time you want to go see what all is out there.
My son Kiefer loves to go camping and overlanding with me, but this was the first camping trip that we have taken were my son’s best friend came with us. Needless to say they really had a great time and both said it was “the best camping trip ever” lol. It probably could have been better in their opinions if we would not have made them pose for so many photo shoots though.
The two of them were even good sports about the purpose of this camping trip… to see and photograph the wonderful fall colors.
We had planned to do another fall color trip two weekends after this one, but as often is the case, life got in the way and it did not happen. So when you get the chance to get out in the wilderness and get away from it all, seize the opportunity!
